Best Places to Exchange Money

There are various legit facilities that you can use to exchange money when in Bali.  Beware of scams and rather do your research and use a reputable company.

It is recommended that you carry some cash with you so that you can pay for taxi fare to your accommodation and for smaller purchases.  For larger payments (such as hotel bills) you can use your credit card (MasterCard & Visa are accepted internationally).

When exchanging money at these reputable facilities, it is a good idea to take along your passport as proof of identification.

Ngurah Rai International Airport – this would be your first option to exchange money as all international airports have an exchange facility.  There are also a  number of banks and ATMs available in the airport, which will allow you to either exchange inside the bank or withdraw cash from the ATM.

Hotel – check with your hotel front desk to see if they are able to exchange money for you.  This may be an experience exchange as their rate will be much higher than that of a bank or reputable exchange company, but if you’re in a pickle then this may do the trick.

Banks & ATMs  there are a number of banks and ATMs around the towns and villages that you can make use of to exchange money or withdraw cash.
